What Sold, What Spoke and What’s Next...
A few weeks ago I held an truly great impromptu exhibition (very hard work but well worth it!) It began with a new collector requesting a private view of original artworks. My teeny cottage is far too small so I decided to hire a local (beautiful) Village Hall for the day and invite others along. I’m thrilled to share the highlights:
The most popular works were:-
- the “Doorway to Freedom”
- the newest Venice painting (still un-named - hot off the press!),
- the “Girl Power” painting
- and the newest painting, still un-named - (the Girl in the Green Garden by the lillies - I need help to name it - any ideas?!)
I was thrilled (and just a little sad) to see the original 'Doorway to Freedom' painting go to a new home. It has quietly lived on quite a few wish lists recently, so I know there may be some disappointed hearts out there.
If you’ve been eyeing something special, don’t wait too long. As the busy season gets underway, it would be a shame to be the one who misses out!
What Resonated & Why?
I asked visitors what drew them to those particular pieces. The Italian doorway inspired them with its intrigue: “Where might that door lead?”
The Venice piece spoke to the wanderlust in people’s hearts and reminded them they could join the journey through art, even if they can’t travel at the moment. (That’s exactly why I paint what I paint — so you can get a feel for the places I see, too).
'Girl Power' was about the sentiment behind the piece. How strong and determined she looks, the colours used and the whole general feel of 'girl power'.

The newest painting, the lady by the lillies was favourited too because it has a serene, calming feeling about it.
I also had a lot of love for the rustic, upcycled wooden frames I’ve been using. Each one has its own charm and adds warmth and character to the finished piece. Perfect for a cottagey feel, I've been told.
Dreaming of Travel (And You’re Invited)
Next year, I turn 60 and I'm planning to travel!
To paint in the hills, breathe in new scenery and I’d love you to come along (at least virtually!). It's my birthday in January and intend to make the most of the whole year. There was a time (because of cancer) I didn't expect to see much past 40, so to reach 60, I'm eternally grateful.
Website News & Shopping Tip
Interestingly, I found the website isn't holding people back from buying prints - it's choice! There’s so much to love, and many weren’t sure which frame would best suit the decor or person they’re buying for. If that sounds familiar, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be happy to help you decide.
Final Thoughts
With so many pieces now in the collection, I’ve decided the New Year is a great time for a little clarity. Some of the older artworks will soon be retired for good, so if there’s a piece you’ve had your eye on, now’s the moment to make it yours. I’ve also been gently advised (by people who know about these things!) that my prices should reflect the growth in skill and time I pour into each piece — so a small price rise is coming for future works. Right now, though, everything remains at current pricing — a perfect opportunity to grab the one you want before the changes.
Thank you again for being part of this little business of mine — your support ensures my brushes keep moving.
